Introduction

Here's my version of Tamiya's Enterprise aircraft carrier.  I've been wanting to build this for sometime and decided to just build it.  It was built over a 7 month period.  Built mostly from the box but just about every area of the ship has been enhanced with photo etch or some scratchbuilding.

Constuction

I scratchbuilt a generic hanger deck just to fill the empty void of the hull.  I used GMM photo ectch sets for the ship and the elevator set.  Also the GMM modern decal set for the carrier and the airwing.  I chose the west coast low vis markings for the airwing which represent CVW-11.

Conclusion

This was a fun build and not going to get into the inaccuracies of the model itself as everyone who has built this already knows what they are.  The stand and the base I built myself using pine.  The cover was built by a local company here in Denver.  The stand is portable and folds up in case in need to move the model for any reason.  Many thanks to the modelers who have contributed to this website and gallery.  Your work was an inspiration and an invalulable reference for me. Hope you enjoy the photos and all comments and critiques are welcome.
