This is the model in 1/72 scale of the famous USS Gambier Bay.

The model is the result of a joint effort of the members of the GMS (Gruppo Modellistico Sestese) of Milan - Italy.

It is a full scratchbuild, based on actual documents of the real thing and represents the ship during February '44 when engaged in the qualification trials for the F4-U Corsair.
