Detailed description in the article!

Here are some pictures of my 1/350 conversion of the Trumpeter Lexington to a 1939/1940 USS Saratoga. The island and 8 inch gun mounts are resin copies (for my personal use only!) from my Blue Water Navy/Yankee ModelWorks Lexington. The flag level has been modified to replicate the Saratoga's. The spotting top is from the Trumpy kit. The photo-etch is a combination of the Gold Medal Models Set for the Lexington from the YMW backdate set (yes, I have an extra set of turrets now!). The additional ships boats were pirated from an ISW Oklahoma in my collection, the planes are a combination of ISW(Buffalos/Helldivers/Vindicators) and Trumpeter (TBDs).

The model was delivered to the Battleship New Jersey Museum in Camden, NJ on 11/2/05, where it will be part of a display of ships built at the defunct New York Shipbuilding Corporation.
