Introduction

With the appearance of the Trumpeter USS Nimitz CVN-68 on the market we expected that they will be release separate aircraft sets as well, just like in the case of the Tamiya USS Enterprise CVN-65. Trumpeter's offering looks better than the old Tamiya planes, but if you want more, WEM offers a good solution for you. We already reviewed their USS Nimitz 1/4 Airwing Set here on CarrierBuilders, but this time, we'll see what is included in the separate sets, designed for the separate aircraft packages.

First Impressions

The packaging was convincing as usual, this time the pe set was included in a zip bag with the instruction sheet, and these were placed in the usual WEM envelope with a cardboard to strengthen the pack for the long trip to your workbench.

Overview

This set contains the identical parts that the WEM USS Nimitz 1/4 Air Wing set contains for the Skywarrior, but in this case it's enough for 6 Skywarriors if the carpet monster doesn't eat any of the parts (as you can find 6 in the Trumpeter aircraft sets). It's really easy to calculate the number of PE sets you have to order, it's the same number as the plane packs.

The kit contains the following parts to enhance your Skywarriors:

Cockpit
Cockpit Tub + Instrument panels
Control Sticks
Ejection Seats

Exterior
Main Gear Doors
Sensor
Nose Gear Doors
Air Brakes
Stores Pylons
Tail Bumper Wheels
Nose Gear
Wing Flaps

Conclusion

This set is very nice as usual, Peter Hall push our insanity to the limits with these sets. Recommended!
